On the morning of May 21, the Zhengzhou Education Bureau held the 2021 Zhengzhou Middle School Entrance Examination Work Conference and a press briefing. This year, the Zhengzhou Middle School Entrance Examination will still take place on June 25 and 26, with a total score of 700 points.

What is this year's middle school entrance examination policy? What changes are there? Let's take a look ↓↓

[Keywords: Data]

The number of classes in ordinary high schools has increased by 71 compared to last year.

In 2021, there were 65,904 junior high school graduates in the nine districts of Zhengzhou (data from the student registration system).

In the nine districts of Zhengzhou, a total of 828 classes have been planned for ordinary high school admissions, an increase of 71 classes compared to 2020. Among them, there are 425 classes in public high schools, an increase of 16 classes compared to 2020, and 403 classes in private high schools, an increase of 55 classes compared to 2020.

It is understood that in the ordinary high school enrollment plan for the nine districts, new public high schools include Zhengzhou No. 47 High School and Tsinghua University Affiliated Zhengzhou School, which have added 6 and 2 classes respectively; Zhengkai School, Zhengzhou Middle School, and Longhu No. 1 High School each added 2 classes; No. 102 High School and No. 20 Middle School each added 1 class.

The main reasons for the significant increase in the enrollment plan for private high schools compared to last year are: first, schools like Zhengzhou Min High School and Zhengzhou Longhai Middle School have slightly increased their enrollment plans based on their development; second, Zhengzhou Xingyuan Foreign Language School and Zhengzhou Yuhua Experimental School have resumed enrollment this year; third, Zhengzhou 18th United International School, Zhengzhou West No. 1 Middle School, and Henan Experimental Yuhong International School have started enrolling in high school this year; fourth, a new private high school (Zhengzhou Aviation Port Experimental High School) has been added.

[Keywords: Registration]

Different students have different registration methods.

This year, there are two categories of students eligible for enrollment in ordinary high schools in Zhengzhou.

The first category is current junior high school graduates who are enrolled in junior high schools in Zhengzhou, who will register online through the Henan Province High School Education Enrollment Information Service Platform (zk.haedu.gov.cn, hereinafter referred to as the "Provincial Enrollment Platform") to collect candidate registration information and fill in their preferred schools.

The online registration period for preferred schools is from May 29 to June 1.

The second category is current junior high school graduates with permanent residence in Zhengzhou (in Jinshui District, Zhongyuan District, Erqi District, Guancheng District, Huiji District, High-tech Zone, Economic Development Zone, Zhengdong New District, and Aviation Port District) who are studying in schools outside Zhengzhou, who will register on-site. When registering, candidates must bring their household registration book, three 2-inch color photos with a blue background, a basic information card printed from the national student registration management system issued by their original junior high school, and a comprehensive quality report booklet for their three years of junior high school.

Please pay attention to the time limit for online registration.

The online registration period is from May 29, 8:00 AM to June 1, 11:59 PM. The registration system will automatically close after 12:00 AM on June 1.

When filling in the preferred schools, candidates need to first log in to the homepage of the "Henan Province High School Education Enrollment Information Service Platform," enter their login account (i.e., registration number), ID number (candidate's ID number), and login password (i.e., the password set by the candidate during registration), and click the "Login" button to enter the candidate's "Middle School Entrance Examination Registration" interface, select the type of examination, and click save to proceed to the next step.

The second step is to fill in the preferred schools. Candidates should follow the system prompts, select the care objects, voluntarily choose their preferences, and click the save button after completing the filling to finish the registration.

The third step is to confirm the preferences. After completing the filling, if candidates do not wish to modify their preferences, they can print the preference information confirmation form at their junior high school as needed.

The fourth step is to modify preferences. If candidates need to modify their preferences within the specified registration time, they must make online modifications and confirm them before 11:59 PM on June 1. After this time, all preferences cannot be modified.

The registration method for candidates studying outside is different.

The on-site registration and preference filling period is from May 30 to May 31, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

According to epidemic prevention and control requirements, on the morning of May 30, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, registration will be uniformly arranged for candidates with permanent residence in Zhengzhou who are studying in schools outside Henan Province. [Keyword: Admission]

Ordinary high schools recruiting junior high school graduates adhere to the principle of comprehensive evaluation and selective admission. Academic examination scores, comprehensive quality assessment results, and candidates' application volunteers are the basis for admission to ordinary high schools.

Admission is based on school-specific cut-off scores, announced by school, and conducted in one round.

Ordinary high schools recruiting junior high school graduates adhere to the principle of comprehensive evaluation and selective admission. Academic examination scores, comprehensive quality assessment results, and candidates' application volunteers are the basis for admission to ordinary high schools.

The admission order follows the principle of volunteer settings and proceeds in sequence. The admission for the provincial early batch is conducted first, and students admitted in the provincial early batch will not participate in the subsequent cut-off admissions.

The admission for the first and second batches of ordinary high schools enrolling in Zhengzhou urban area implements a method of school-specific cut-off scores, announced by school, and conducted in one round. During admission, the admission score for each school is determined at once based on the ordinary high school enrollment plan and class size control standards.

When admitting schools in the first batch, the admission is conducted in the order of first and second volunteers. If the admission score for the first volunteer school is reached, the second volunteer school will not be considered; if the admission score for the first volunteer school is not reached, the admission for the second volunteer school will be conducted, and the admission will be sorted uniformly based on scores, selecting the best.

If the admission score for the first batch of admission schools is not reached, then participate in the admission for the second batch of volunteer schools.

The admission order for the first volunteer school in the first batch is: unified admission students, allocated students.

Candidates who reach the low admission control score for public ordinary high schools but are not admitted to their volunteer schools will be allocated to schools with enrollment vacancies by the Zhengzhou Admission Office. Once allocated, no adjustments will be made.

23 schools recruit allocated students.

The proportion of allocated students recruited by ordinary high schools is 60% of the school's enrollment plan.

This year, there are a total of 23 schools accepting allocated students, which are: Henan Experimental Middle School, Zhengzhou No. 1 Middle School, Zhengzhou No. 2 High School, Zhengzhou No. 4 High School, Zhengzhou No. 5 High School, Zhengzhou Hui Minority High School, Zhengzhou No. 7 High School, Zhengzhou No. 9 Middle School, Zhengzhou No. 11 Middle School, Zhengzhou No. 12 Middle School, Zhengzhou No. 16 High School, Zhengzhou No. 19 High School, Zhengzhou No. 31 High School, Zhengzhou No. 47 High School, Zhengzhou Foreign Language School, Zhengzhou No. 101 Middle School, Zhengzhou Middle School, Zhengzhou Experimental High School, Zhengzhou Longhu No. 1 Middle School, Zhengzhou Zhengkai School, Zhengzhou No. 47 High School (Zhengzhou No. 47 High School East Campus), Zhengzhou No. 74 Middle School, Zhengdong New District Foreign Language Middle School.

June 25-26, enrollment examination.

On June 27, experimental operation exams for chemistry and biology, and physical examination for individual candidates studying outside. The address is Zhengzhou No. 9 Middle School.

June 28 - July 7, grading and score entry for the enrollment examination.

July 8-9, release of exam results.

July 9-11, review of cultural course scores for the enrollment examination.

July 11-12, provincial early batch admissions.

July 12-24, enrollment file establishment and score line setting. (If the provincial early batch is ahead of schedule, the enrollment meeting will also be advanced accordingly.)

On July 26, hold a meeting for enrollment work.

July 26 - August 1, admissions.

This year's enrollment policy has five changes.

Change One: Adjustment of exam times for some subjects.

According to the requirements of the Henan Provincial Department of Education's notice on the 2021 ordinary high school enrollment work, the exam times for some subjects in Zhengzhou's enrollment examination have been adjusted, which candidates need to pay attention to.

For the Chinese subject on the morning of June 25, the exam time has been adjusted from the original 8:30-10:30 to 8:20-10:20, with the exam duration and score unchanged.

For the chemistry subject on the afternoon of June 25, the exam time has been adjusted from the original 16:40-17:30 to 16:50-17:40, with the exam duration and score unchanged.

For the mathematics subject on the morning of June 26, the exam time has been adjusted from the original 8:30-10:10 to 8:20-10:00, with the exam duration and score unchanged.

The exam times for other subjects remain unchanged.

The Zhengzhou Enrollment Office reminds candidates to arrange their exam times reasonably to avoid being late or missing the exam due to misremembering the exam time.

Change Two: International classes recruit locally.

This year, the admission batch for international classes (Sino-foreign cooperative education programs) has been adjusted.

Starting this year, international classes (Sino-foreign cooperative education programs) mainly recruit locally. If the local enrollment plan is not completed, they may recruit from other cities, but cannot convert to ordinary class enrollment plans. Students recruited must be approved by the education administrative departments of both the school location and the source of students, and reported to the Department of Education for record.

International class enrollment strictly follows the enrollment plan issued by the municipal enrollment office, and students are admitted based on enrollment examination scores and comprehensive quality assessment results. If the international class project school has special requirements for candidates' foreign language scores, they must publicly announce the admission principles and methods in advance.

Change Three: Private high schools no longer recruit from the entire province.

This year, the enrollment policy for private high schools adds the principle of local enrollment. Public and private ordinary high schools generally implement local enrollment and no longer recruit from the entire province.

Ordinary high schools located in county areas should enroll within their own counties, while ordinary high schools located in urban areas of provincial cities should enroll within their respective districts or several urban areas, with specific enrollment ranges determined by the education administrative departments of provincial cities.

In 2021, private high school enrollment implements "citizen simultaneous enrollment," and the enrollment work of private ordinary high schools is included in the unified management of the local education administrative departments, with the enrollment range consistent with that of public high schools in the area.

Change Four: Changes in policy preferences for enrollment.

This year, the policy for preferential treatment in enrollment includes an additional item for military children's candidates, stating that "the education benefits for children of disabled veterans from level one to four will be implemented according to the notice issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Education, and General Political Department regarding the interim measures for education benefits for preferential treatment objects and their children (Civil Notice [2004] No. 192)."

At the same time, the policy for additional points for children of experts and talents working on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control, especially medical and health workers, has been removed from the provincial enrollment policy this year.

Change Five: Ordinary secondary vocational schools require registration before the exam and filling in preferences after the exam.

In previous years, junior high school graduates who chose ordinary secondary vocational schools needed to fill in their preferences at the time of registration.

This year, this policy has been adjusted. Candidates who complete the selection of ordinary secondary vocational categories online will have their preference filling time adjusted to after the enrollment examination, from June 27 to 30.

When filling in preferences, candidates will first fill in the "five-year" and "3+2" segmented diploma enrollment plans, with each student allowed to choose two preferences; the second batch will fill in the small secondary vocational enrollment plans, with each student allowed to choose two preferences.

Who qualifies for allocated student status? How are allocated students admitted?

Every year when the enrollment policy is released, the allocated student policy is a hot topic for parents and candidates. In 2021, which candidates in Zhengzhou District have allocated student qualifications? How are allocated students admitted?

Which candidates qualify for allocated student status?

Candidates who meet the following conditions qualify for allocated student status:

Candidates with a permanent residence in Zhengzhou District, registered in the municipal (district) education administrative department, who have continuously studied for three years in the registered school, and whose comprehensive quality evaluation in junior high school is at or above the qualified level; children of migrant workers who have legal occupations and stable residences (including rentals) and have paid social insurance in Zhengzhou for more than one year (including one year), registered in the municipal (district) education administrative department, who have continuously studied for three years in the registered school, and whose comprehensive quality evaluation in junior high school is at or above the qualified level.

Each junior high school must publicly announce the list of students with allocated student qualifications within the school before registration, accepting supervision.

Look here for the admission methods for allocated students.

The admission process for allocated students consists of the following three steps:

First, set the admission score line at 40% of the total number of admissions within each school's enrollment plan. Candidates below the score line will be admitted according to the allocated student plan of the admitting school and their academic exam scores from high to low.

In the second step, the admission criteria for allocated students are controlled to be 50 points below the admission line of the first batch of the first-choice schools reported by the candidates, and must not be lower than the admission score line for ordinary high schools in urban areas.

In the third step, the admission score line for allocated students is divided by each junior high school, based on the number of allocated student quotas from high to low for preferential admission. If candidates have the same score, they will be admitted simultaneously.

If the allocated student quotas for individual junior high schools are not filled, the vacant plans will be transferred to the general admission students.

It is important to remind candidates that the admission for allocated students is only valid for the first-choice school reported by the candidates.

■ Friendly Reminder:

Starting from 2022, during the high school entrance examination, second-year junior high school students will also take geography and biology exams, which will be included in the total score for the next year's candidates.
